The report is devoted to investigation of current standing of market of bituminous roofing felts and piece roofing materials in Russia and forecast of its development. The investigation was implemented mainly by the method of "desk" studies - information materials from many sources were analysed, first of all, official data of state bodies: Federal Statistic Service of Russia (Rosstat), Inter-State CIS Statistic Committee (production figures), JSC "RZhD" (Russian domestic railage statistics), Federal Customs Service of Russia (data on foreign trade operations). Besides, data of enterprises, from their annual and quarterly reports and web-sites, information from mass media, as well as own database of InfoMine, were used. Notice that in Russia, data on motor transportation of freight are not liable to obligatory statistic account, so, in the Report, we apply only railage statistic data, as well as own data of some companies.
The 1st Section is devoted to description of the main kinds of resources, used in production of bituminous roofing felts and piece roofing materials: bases, bitumens and bitumen modifiers. The Section presents data on producers of the products, volumes and destinations of supplies, à as well as data on import of resources for production of roofing materials.
The 2nd Section is devoted to analysis of production statistics for 2000 to 2005. The Section presents data on available productive capacities and regional pattern of their location. Besides, dynamics of production of soft roofing materials in Russia for the period is given, as well as data on volumes of production of the products by the greatest domestic producers.
The 3rd Section considers current standing of some large producers of roofing materials. The Section presents data on pattern of ownership of the companies, available productive facilities, range of products, volumes of production, plans of the enterprise development, as well as data on volumes and destinations of supplies of the products for the latest 2 years.
The 4th Section is devoted to analysis of Russian foreign trade operations with roofing materials in 2000 – 1 half of 2006. In latest years, volumes of exports of roofing materials are much in excess of volumes of their imports that is owed by active growth of production of the products in Russia and significant improvement of the product grade compared with ñ 90s that makes the Russian products well-competitive with foreign analogues. In this case, growth of volumes of the export supplies is accompanied by expanding export markets of the products (penetrating into new regions, etc.).
The 5th Section of the report is devoted to analysis of consumption of bituminous roofing felts and piece roofing materials in Russia, including supply-demand balance of the product, regional pattern of the consumption, seasonality factor analysis. The Section also presents review of domestic and export-import prices on the discussed roofing materials.
The 6th Section of the report describes current standing of the main end-use – building industry, including data on volumes of building works for 2000-2005, as well as plans of the sector development up to 2010.
The 7th Section presents forecast of development of Russian market of bituminous roofing felts and piece roofing materials up to 2010.
In the Appendix, addresses and other contact information on the main company-producers of roofing materials are presented.
